Signs You Need Washing Machine Repairs

Our washing machines are wonderful machines of convenience. They make cleaning our clothes much easier. Washing machines are complex, delicate machines that are always working hard to provide us with clean clothes. We love them because they do an otherwise boring and time-consuming job. However, they require routine maintenance and repairs to keep them performing in peak condition. Here are some signs to look for that indicate your washer needs repairs:

• Leaks: Your washing machine should never leak. If you notice water leaking around your washing machine, there is an issue. You may have a faulty gasket, hose, pump, or seal. Get your washer inspected and repaired immediately to avoid further damage.

• Loud Noises: Washing machines naturally make a lot of noise. They spin at high rates of speed with water and clothes in them and you will hear water being pumped in and out of the machine. However, if you notice strange sounds or that it is louder than normal, you should get it inspected by an appliance repair company.

• Failure to Spin: If your washer is not spinning and draining water, you may have a faulty belt or switch. This is a clear issue as your washing machine should always drain all the water out of it.

• Strange Odors:  Front-loading washers tend to have mold and mildew growth issues. If you are noticing unpleasant smells emanating from your washing machine, it is probably mold and mildew. However, if you smell a burning smell, it may be an electrical issue and you should unplug your washer for safety.
